Freebie Friday at Bugaboo

Meet Dottie
new member of the Bugaboo family
Isn't she sassy??
Personally I think she would make a
perfect redhead.
Unfortunately I don't have the right
copics for the job.  Some of the
other DT members made her a blonde,
which also looks really good.
Want to see?  Go to Catch the Bug
and see what the others did.

How cute is this little guy??
More bobbleheads released at
Bugaboo today.
Can't wait to use this on some

I paper pieced the inside of the ears and the

Sgrooge

Yeah, with shopping left to do, a menu to play and food to buy, plus a house to clean
and presents left to wrap......this is how I feel.
Bugaboo is sponsoring a challenge over at Card Cupids.
The challenge is to use your favorite tool.  My FAVORITE tool
is the irock.  Those little white "brad looking" things on my card.
Those are "rocks" put on with the irock.  It's a battery operated tool.  You place
the little rocks where you want them, then heat up the tool in a matter of seconds
and then place the tool on top of the rocks.  It in turn heats the
glue on the backside of the rocks, melting them right to the paper.
They look like brads but without having to worry about prongs to hide.
It's genius and I use it ALL the time.

Stella :)

Oh, how I love Stella
from Bugaboo.
This is kind of how I feel lately.
Sad to say I know but
my list just keeps getting longer
while my time gets shorter.
Wanted to get some card making
in  today but doesn't look like that's
going to happen.
Had to go shopping instead.
I think I can probably finish up
the rest of it in a few hours if
I really put my mind to it.
Anyway, hope this brought a
smile to your face :)

New Release Tuesday at Bugaboo

Yeahhhhh more BRATS!
Bugaboo has a line of "Brats"
they are so sweet.
Can't wait to see  the other ones.
Difficult to see in the picture but
I cut the legs off and popped them out
on pop dots for dimension.
I embossed the background with
my scor-pal.
One of these brats would make
a perfect card for the winter
wonderland challenge going on now
over at the

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Countdown to Christmas continues...
I find myself running in place.
So much to do, so little time and all
I want to do is stamp.
The Christmas spirit is slowly setting in
but it never really feels Christmasy
to me until THAT day.
My son asked Santa for a go-kart.
Luckily the Santa at the mall
talked logistics with him and I think
he's given up on the idea.
My parents got him an electric scooter
which will have to be close enough.

Oldie but Goodie at Bugaboo

When I look at at this image I think of
my brother and I
snooping for Christmas presents in the
basement.
One year when my parents left for a bit
my brother and I unwrapped some of our
presents very carefully
and no one would of been the wiser but....
when my parents returned my brother got in
trouble for something that had nothing to
do with Christmas.
In the heat of the moment he blurts out
"Well, Amy got blue boots!!"
The cat was out of the bag.
We got in trouble and Mom said all the
presents were going back.
She never did return anything though.
The next year the gifts were kept at my
Great Grandparents house
until they were wrapped and our lives
were threatened.

I used a nestability to cut out the image.
I love that ribbon too.

so you can shape it which makes ribbon
making easier.
There are little pearls on the
scalloped ends.

Let it snow

I don't think I've ever made a card with kraft paper.  I know, weird right.  I've seen it a lot lately and thought I'd try it.
I think kraft and red look good together.  The image is Bugaboo.  I found the little candy cane in my stash.  Bugaboo is sponsoring a challenge over at Stamps R Us.
If you win you get 7 free Bugaboo images.
So go check it out.  Don't forget about Bugaboo's challenge at Catch the bug for another chance to win :)

Bugaboo Design Team Member

I did it!  I did it!  I made Bugaboo Stamps Design Team! I'm so very excited to get started.  I found Bugaboo very shortly after they "opened" (almost a year ago) and immediately FELL IN LOVE.  I can honestly say that I love every one of the images.  Jodie Mackrell (artist/owner) is AMAZING!  I was lucky enough to be a Guest Designer for them this past September.  I've been on several design teams and Bugaboo is by far the most organized.  It was so much fun!  Jodie is so generous to her DTM!  I know this will be an awesome experience.  Let the paper crafting begin!!!!

Ribbon Butterflies

I don't remember where I first saw this idea
but I love it.
Think of all those little "shnipsals" of ribbon
that would otherwise be tossed away.
Well, toss no more...
Take a small piece of thin craft wire and wrap it around
the middle of a piece of ribbon then twist
the ends around a paint brush to make
antennas. It's genius really!
Too bad I didn't think of it :)

Why digi?

Have you heard the news?
There are 3 new artists over at Squigglefly
AND THEY ARE FABULOUS!
Suzanne Urban, Marlene S, and Brian Lock
The image above is one of Brian Lock's
The image you will find over at the store
looks a little different.
That's because I changed it a bit.
This is one of the many reasons I LOVE DIGI'S
I used white out to remove the bird that
sits on top of the snowman's nose.
I wanted more of a winter feel to the card
and the hat on the bird made the image too
Christmas-ey for this card. I also used white out to
remove the lines on the scarf and hat
so that I could paper piece the image on design paper.
And THAT my friends, is why digi...
Don't forget to go check out this week's challenge
and enter for a chance to win :)

Prickley Pear

I thought a little break from the Holiday Madness
might be nice.
This is a card I made for Prickley Pear to showcase
one of their "heart" stamps.
I love this paper. Hard to see in the picture but
the silver is very bright. Thought it would be
a nice break from the red that's usually
associated with hearts.

Bugaboo sketch challenge

This weeks Bugaboo challenge is a sketch.
I love sketch challenges. They are by far my favorite.
Makes card making sooo easy.
Just color your image pick your paper and put it together.
How easy can it be?
This image is part of Bugaboo's
November stamp set of the month.
20 stamps for $20!!!
What a deal!

Round 2 at Bugaboo

OHHH THE PRESSURE!!
So I made it to Round 2 in Bugaboo's Design Team Call
I took almost the whole week to come up with my card.
We were given the image and they wanted to see
what we could do with "people"
(Gotta love Stella)
I had this great patterned paper and I love the colors
of it. They are so bright and pretty but
because they wanted to see "people"
I decided to mute the colors a bit with vellum
so that Stella would POP. I also put her on pop dots for
added dimension.
I took the balloons from 2 different images
and cut them out.
We will find out by November 28
if we've been accepted.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Prickley Pear leaves

I made this with a leaves stamp from Prickley Pear.
I've had this paper for a long time and I love it
but just couldn't seem to find the right card for it.
I stumbled on this technique on youtube and thought it
would be perfect. This is the second card I've made with this
technique. Check out the purple, black, etc. a few posts down. It's
a Halloween card with a cat on it.
You stamp the image on the paper of your choice with
Versamark ink. Then emboss with clear embossing powder.
Then take a dauber with your black ink on it and just make
circular motions over and around the stamped image.
Then buff out the embossed image with a cloth.
Stay tuned to the Prickley Pear blog
we hope to have some challenges coming up....

SQUIGGLEFLY CHALLENGE

I LOVE PAPER PIECING
One of my favorite techniques is paper piecing!
If you have a patterned paper that you are particularly
fond of but just don't seem to have the right color markers
or pencils...etc, this is the perfect thing to do.
I love this paper but no matter how I colored the image it
just wasn't working for me. So I just ran the patterned paper
through my printer - printing the image on it
cut the image out and "pieced" it together
easy peasy lemon squeezy....
as my son would say :)
The challenge over at Squigglefly this week
is "Dance" to be interpreted anyway you like.
I love this quote and the image just "fit".
So get crackin' go create and upload to the blog
for a chance to win.

Bugaboo anything goes challenge

Well, it's Saturday so that means a new challenge
over at Bugaboo. This week it's "anything goes"
so......because most of the cards I make are Bugaboo I
have several just waiting to be posted.
Here's one I recently made. The addiction
is pretty serious when you start buying paper
to go with the images you have. LOL!
Love this cow! There are several more
So if you've never done a challenge before this would
be the perfect start. No rules or requirements just
"anything" will do. The prize.....well 7, 5, or 3 free
Bugaboo images.
Good luck!!!

Bugaboo challenge

Been a little busy this week. Finally getting this posted.
This challenge ends tonight and a new one will be
posted tomorrow over at
This challenge is "fall" hard to decide
which adorable thanksgiving image to use.
You may notice the paper from some of the other
fall cards I've done. I just love it. The colors are perfect.
I think I've made about 5 cards with this one piece of paper.
Go check out the new winter releases over at Bugaboo
I had to buy the bundle.....too cute. Remember all images
are 50% off this month.
Happy paper crafting all - have a great weekend!!!

Prickley Pear Pumpkins

Isn't this fun?
You can find the tutorial here.
I made this with Prickley Pears pumpkin
stamp/die set. I just love it!!
Cut out pumpkin shape and stamp -- perfect!!
The leaves on the border of the card are also
Prickley Pear.
Interesting and easy!!
Rubber stamps: Prickley Pear
Paper: miscellaneous orange and
miscellaneous patterned paper.

Bugaboo Design Team Call

What I've been waiting for is finally here....
Bugaboo is having a Design Team Call
and this is my application.
You can find the details here
I made the first card (mouse with candy cane)
for the application and the other 2 you
may notice from previous posts.
they are 2 of my favorites.
(notice the difference between the quality of pictures - the first one
was taken on my 4G iphone and the bottom two were both taken on my 3G iphone
crazy huh?)
I decided to choose non-bugaboo images because
I recently spent a month with this awesome group
as September's Design Team Member of the month.
During that time (and the time since) I made so
many Bugaboo cards that I feel they know what I can
do with Bugaboo.
I truly LOVE Bugaboo images......clearly
just check out the 49 other Bugaboo projects on this blog.
(click Bugaboo under labels in the right side column)
Right now Jodie (owner/artist) is offering
50% off
the whole month of NOVEMBER.
How sweet is that?? That's $1.50 on most
images. (shhh, don't tell my husband - LOL)
So please wish me luck in hopes I will be chosen to be a
Bugaboo Design Team Member.

Happy Halloween

Well, this is the last of my Halloween cards.
I've had fun making them.
Now, on to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This is a Bugaboo image.
They are having a design team call right now
so expect to see my application post in the next
few days. I had so much fun being a
Guest Designer for them that I'm going
to give it my best shot to try to land
a Design Team spot this time.
I absolutely adore their images.
As you can see in the label column on the right
side of the blog....I've made several cards
with their images :)
Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!!

PPRS "black" cat

I made this card with a
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp.
An easy technique actually.
I stamped the cat on a piece of patterned paper
with Versamark ink then embossed it with clear
embossing powder. Then I took a sponge
dauber rubbed with black ink and rubbed in
circular motions around and over the stamped
image. After that I rubbed the image itself over
with a paper towel which cleaned it up and buffed it
out a bit making it pop off the paper. Now you
can see the patterned paper design in the background.
So easy!! Then I cut it out with nestabilities die and
finished layering my card. I tied the black ribbon
in a knot and thought, "that looks like a bat" so
there you go.....3 black bats to accent the card.
The "Goulish Greetings" sentiment is PPRS too.
This won't be the last time you see me use this
technique!

Stamps: Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps
Ribbon: Miscellaneous black ribbon
Paper: We R Memory Keepers
Die: Nestabilities
